Welcome back!!! This week at Mrs. Kats with our (Experience Early learning formally Mother Goose Time) curriculum, we Investigated different ways that animals carry their babies…. In the mouth, on the back, in a pouch, on the chest and in the arms. Our preschool curriculum is packed with daily research based skills through play and hands-on projects. This week I wanted to Focus more on language and literacy. I am going to show you how awesome our curriculum is with ideas for children to really get excited about learning letters. Experience early learning focuses on three letters each month.

I see C’s
Each letter that we learn comes with a fun I spy game that the kids really enjoy. There is always a fun spy glass that the kids love. This week The children were asked to find the letter Cc on the I spy game and cover them with a Tangram. Then color the pictures beginning with the /C/ sound. each I spy game is different so make sure to follow along so you can get more fun ideas.

Let’s make crafty C’s

I put a bunch of craft material in the middle of the table and had children highlight and decorate the letter C’s on their paper. The children were able to create their very own unique letters and boy did they love this!!!! This would be a great activity to do on a rainy or cold day. This activity really kept the children engaged and interested. It was also a great way to work on many fine motor skills.

Ready set C’s
I placed manipulatives in different areas of the home allowing each child to have their own area. I told the children that I was going to set a timer for 30 seconds and whoever made the most C’s using their manipulative pieces would win.

Next we did who can make the biggest C in 30 seconds.

This activity was so fun and got pretty competitive with the boys. Lol

During circle time I ask children to find an item that has the letter /C / and place it on the loose letter Mat.

We love using our loose letter parts and Mat that Experience Early Learning supply us with each month.
Thanks for stopping by, come back next week with more from Mrs.Kats Kids.

As always, our opinions on amazing stuff for children are 100% our own. Keep in mind that all preschoolers do things in their own time and on their own terms.
