Welcome back friends we are in our new unit with experience early learning and this month we’re discovering space and sky!!!

Huge shout out to Experience Early Learning for this month’s curriculum which I have received in return for honest and authentic stories resulting from my daily experiences. I am excited and honored to share how we use this curriculum to meet the different learning needs in my home.
We had so much fun this week discovering space from earth!!!
The sun is the largest object in our solar system. Our planet earth would be frozen without the sun. We need the sun to survive. During creative art time the children had a great time mixing yellow and red paint together on a paper plate and making their own sun.

Telescope
We had such a fun time today discussing what we would like to see up in space. I explained that people can use telescopes to study the sky. During creative art our preschool curriculum gave us a red tube and some star stickers so the children could design their own telescope. They had so much fun making these. Next we took turns saying what we seen in the sky for example, a child could say “I see a rocket ship in the sky.”

Building comets and stars!!
Experience Early Learning curriculum goes over and beyond with their monthly hands on math activities for preschoolers. We are loving building comets and stars today on these fun shape design mats.

Toss the Comet
Discuss When a meteor falls towards the earth, it becomes a comment with a fire tail. This is the same as a “shooting star”. Invite children to share what they know about the night sky.
Today we made a comet using crepe paper and a big pompom. We placed A picture of the earth on the ground and explored tossing the comet to the earth picture. Then we had a challenge on who’s comet could fly the farthest.

As an Experience Early Learning Blog Ambassador, I receive the Experience Early Learning Preschool curriculum in exchange for my honest and authentic stories resulting from our personal experiences. As always, my opinions on awesome stuff for little kids are 100% my own. Keep in mind that all preschoolers do things in their own time and on their own terms. What one is ready for, another might not be. Please use your best mama judgement when planning activities for your little kids. #preschool #homeschool #mgtblogger
